Susan Boyle:I Dreamed a Dream

I have met so many talented people from all walks of life who are able to do something in a really special way and yet they either never realise just how good they are or never get enough publicity to be seen and discovered.

And that's exactly the point, having a good chance of being discovered!.

One of the only chances I had of being discovered as a singer was if a talent scout over heard me having a bath; about one chance in a billion. But I was spotted while waiting for a bus outside Victoria Station by a photographer who wanted a picture of me sitting on a motorbike for the front cover of a magazine; So chance meetings can happen but they are very rare.

Amazing People in Performing Arts

In this simple video can be seen almost immediately why Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were so successful moving in such a different and inspiring way to music. They were hugely talented being able to move in a way that gave pleasure and entertainment. Decades later Michael Jackson displayed a similar gift dancing and singing with uniqueness that amazed and entertained.

What did these house-hold names have that the rest of us escaped from?. The answer to that age old question is simple but also mystical; they all worked very hard everyday to perfect their own special gift. But Fred Astaire could never watch himself perform on the silver screen because he saw in his performances imperfection that made him cringe. He was not alone in his pursuit of trying to give a faultless performance. The famous also had an ingredient in their personalities which is what some recognise as being a special spark of life itself; Robbie Williams once commented about it by acknowledging that he was one of the lucky few to have the spark.

But how do us mere mortal's get to the spot to ignite that illusive spark?.

The best advice for any budding star or wanabe is to follow the genre of Spike MIlligan and follow two rules: Keep-it-simple and be focused, try to think in a lateral way,(sideways), about your performance and to be always original, unique and more or less set-apart from the rest of the rabble.

Hubbers Global Talent Contest

If you believe that you have a talent and the "Spark" that will entertain and give people pleasure then find out what other's think about it by making a Hub Page yourself and let visitors vote. The feedback will present a clear message and will also create a media for social networking publicity in the world of the 'Hyper-Space Cloud'.

A HubPages Talent Contest will be a lot of fun but on the other hand I just might re-visit that Bus Stop at Victoria Station after 42 years.
